"textContent": "Italy's rugby federation partners with Rome.\nRugby fans with tickets for the 2026 Six Nations tournament in Rome will have free admission to city-run museums in the capital on the weekends that Italy hosts two home games.\n\nTo gain access to the municipal museums, visitors must present their ticket for the Six Nations match being played that weekend at the Stadio Olimpico.\n\nThe initiative, whose title IV Tempo Rugby e Cultura is a play on the “third half” so beloved of rugby fans, follows an agreement between Italy's rugby federation, the city of Rome and Italian culture ministry.\n\nThe first edition takes place on the weekend of the Italy vs Scotland match (7 February), followed by the weekend when the Azzurri take on England (7 March).\n\nThe dates on which the offer is active are Friday 6 February, Saturday 7 February, Sunday 8 February, and Friday 6 March, Saturday 7 March, Sunday 8 March.\n\nAmong the municipal museums participating in the Six Nations initiative are:\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCentrale Montemartini\nMuseum of the Forma Urbis\nCircus Maximus Archaeological Area\nTrajan's Markets\nCapitoline Museums\nMuseum of Rome in Trastevere\nSacred Area of Largo Argentina\nMuseum of Rome - Palazzo Braschi\nMunicipal Gallery of Modern Art\nAra Pacis Museum\nZoology Museum\nVilla Torlonia – Casino Nobile, Casino dei Principi, Casina delle Civette and Serra Moresca\n\n\n\n\nThis year Italy is celebrating 26 years in the Six Nations after joining England, France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales in the rugby union championship in 2000.\n\nThe 2026 edition of the 15-match tournament will see Italy play three away games: against the Irish in Dublin 14 February, against reigning champions France in Paris on 22 February, and against Wales in Cardiff on 14 March.\n\nAll sides will try to avoid being handed the dreaded \"wooden spoon\" - for finishing in last place - which went to Wales in 2025 for the second year in a row.\n\nFor full details of the museums participating in the initiative see the Musei in Comune website.\n\n\n\n\n\nPhoto credit: Pennacchio Emanuele / Shutterstock.com.",
