"textContent": "binfluencer:\n\n> brozil:\n>\n>> i had my qualms regarding this book, mainly because of the film based on it. but at the end i was pleasantly surprised, because unlike tarkovsky’s work, which focuses on human melodrama (making its three hours almost unbearable to watch), the diva in the book is the planet, the rest of the characters are just accesories to tell its story. i barely remembered the movie, so i really enjoyed this book, specially the gymnastics it forced my brain into when trying to imagine the “ocean being” and all its metamorphosis + its rich aesthetic imagery (particularly the chromatic descriptions).\n>\n> read quite a few Lam but not this one! (seen the movie though) love sci-fi but it’s just such a heavy read. gotta be in the mood to be able to get through it\n\nLem is very good at writing very depressive stories",
