ooooh my god ok so my sister needs cancer treatment and she’s lived in london for YEARS and she’s only ever lived in the UK and she’s the whitest most pale person and the NHS demanded that she prove that she was eligible? for NHS treatment??? and prove that she’s a UK citizen??? what the fuck???

like, if they’re treating her like this just for having a fairly neutral-sounding scottish/irish accent, imagine how fucking bad it must be for anybody whose skin is darker!! or has any sort of “from an immigrant family” lilt to their accent! 20% of Londoners are of Asian descent!

anyway, my mum found my sister’s birth certificate, phoned them up & they kept putting her through to voicemail.

“i’ll call every 10 minutes until someone answers!”

they picked up. and accepted a photo of the birth certificate.
