Edinburgh cycle hire scheme to expand for third time in five months - Deadline News FOLLOWING a successful rollout and expansion, Edinburgh’s new Voi bike cycle hire scheme is set for a third expansion since being introduced in September, this time to Stockbridge and Inverleith. The scheme, which was brought in by the City of Edinburgh Council in partnership with Voi Technologies – a Swedish e-bike and scooter hire firm – has seen some teething issues but has mostly been a success. Since going live in September, the council claims more than 185,000 trips have been made by over 26,500 riders. With this apparent success in mind, Voi and Edinburgh council have decided to move the scheme to its “fourth phase”, with coverage expanded north of the city centre and more than 200 bikes added to the fleet.
