"textContent": "\n\n\n\nThe jinx of four successive defeats is finally over for the Hyderabad Kingsmen.\n\n\nThe HBL PSL debutants have registered their first-ever victory in the tournament after suffering defeats in their first four outings, and the man who made it happen was Hassan Khan, whose quick-fire 33 not out enabled Hyderabad to get over the line in 19.1 overs.\n\nIn the 20th match at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Saturday night, the Marnus Labuschagne-led side went through phases during the thrilling run chase, ending the powerplay with 76 runs on the board.\n\nHowever, in the middle overs they lost their way when the departures of Saim Ayub (6) and Glenn Maxwell (2) triggered a collapse, reducing them to 112 for the loss of five wickets inside 12 overs.\n\nBut it was Hassan who made the impact, scoring 33 off just 16 balls with two fours and two sixes, as he struck the winning runs with a sweep behind square on the leg side.\n\n> View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pakistan Super League (@thepsl)\n>\n\nAfter a 36-run opening stand, skipper Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for 26 off 10 deliveries by Khushdil Shah in the third over. Maaz Sadaqat then stitched together a 60-run partnership with Usman Khan.\n\nMaaz, who remained the top-scorer with 37 off 29 deliveries, was dismissed by Adam Zampa, while Usman departed for 27 when the score was 96.\n\nTheir back-to-back dismissals triggered a collapse as the Kingsmen also lost Saim Ayub (6) and Glenn Maxwell (2), slipping to 112/5 in 11.4 overs.\n\nHowever, Irfan then took charge of the chase and shared an important 27-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Kusal Perera, who contributed 17 off 14 balls. He was later joined by Hassan Khan, and the pair held their nerves to guide the Kingsmen to a much-needed victory with an unbeaten 50-run partnership.\n\nFor Karachi Kings, Abbas Afridi was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets for 30 runs in his four overs, while Hasan Ali, Khushdil Shah, Adam Zampa and Salman Ali Agha took one wicket each.\n\n### Moeen shines with explosive 44\n\nAfter being put into bat, Karachi Kings managed a competitive total of 188 for six, powered by Moeen Ali’s explosive 44 off just 16 balls.\n\nThe innings got off to a poor start as Reeza Hendricks was dismissed in the first over. Salman Ali Agha (24) and Muhammad Waseem then rebuilt with a crucial 45-run partnership for the second wicket, before Salman fell to Hunain Shah at the end of the powerplay.\n\nHunain struck again in his next over, trapping Waseem lbw after his 25 off 19 deliveries, leaving the Kings at 59/3 in 7.2 overs.\n\nSaad Baig and Azam Khan then steadied the innings with a 69-run stand for the fourth wicket. Azam scored 26 off 19 balls, including two sixes and a four, before being dismissed by Marnus Labuschagne.\n\nMoeen Ali then took charge with a blistering counterattack, smashing five sixes and a four in his 44 off 16 balls, shifting momentum back to Karachi. He was eventually dismissed by Mohammad Ali in the penultimate over.\n\n> View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pakistan Super League (@thepsl)\n>\n\nSaad Baig also brought up his maiden PSL half-century, scoring 53 off 37 balls before retiring out after top-scoring for his side.\n\nFor Hyderabad Kingsmen, Hunain Shah was the standout bowler with figures of 3 for 19, while Mohammad Ali took two wickets and Labuschagne claimed one.",
