can't use bluetooth keyboard on iPhone

Hi all! I am no longer able to use a bluetooth keyboard on my iPhone. I have an se2020 and 26.4 on my phone. I can navigate around with keystrokes but when I get into an input field I am unable to enter anything. I can turn off voiceover and it works fine. I've talked to apple accessibility and they say that other people are reporting this issue. Just wondered if any of you all are having difficulty with this. Any fixes that you know of? Apple accessibility told me to restore the phone and install as new and go through that all over again. Not really willing to do this because I am considering anew phone. Thanks for any help and info.
