A Hong Kong court sentenced UK citizen Jimmy Lai to 20 years in prison. Six other Apple Daily staffers got sentences ranging from 6 years and 9 months to 10 months. Two activists were also sentenced to long jail terms. For 78 year old Lai this is a life sentence. His only hope of freedom is likely some sort of humanitarian release negotiated by US President Trump.
