Indigo is the perfect Bluesky app, oh, and it supports Mastodon too

I've been using Indigo since it launched on May 12, and it's the best Bluesky client out there. The fact that it also works with Mastodon and supports cross posting is a bonus.
I like Mastodon, but when it was clear that Bluesky was going to be the more user-friendly option that would attract non-nerds, I shifted my focus. However, not everyone made the jump.
When I started writing this blog on Ghost' it was about the same time that it became federated. At that point, I hadn't posted to Mastodon beyond replying to the occasional post or reposting a blog post. Mastodon had become a part of my RSS feed in Tapestry.
When Indigo launched, I switched off the Mastodon function in Tapestry and logged into Indigo instead. When I post my blog links, I use the cross-post function.
Also, whenever I make a relevant post that would work on both platforms, I simply let it post to both.
Otherwise, I've been using Indigo as a Bluesky client. It's got a really well-configured app interface that simply shows the chronological feed. That feed syncs my reading spot across devices so I'm never fighting to get back to where I was before.
My feed is managed well enough that I can be a feed completionist within reason. I think Indigo might be the first Bluesky client that implemented this feature well.
It's also great at running as an iPad app. Other Bluesky clients offer iPad apps, but they've been buggy or missing features. Indigo has proven to be reliable and consistent across platforms.
It is missing a few Bluesky-specific features like feed management and pinning posts, but I'm sure that will come later. It didn't launch on Apple Vision Pro, but it is now available as a compatible app on the platform. So far, so good.
I'd also love to see some creative alternate app icons. The "i" is fine, but it doesn't scream "Bluesky" or "Mastodon" the way some mascot-focused icons do.
There are new apps being released every day, but I think it has become immensely difficult to find unique, well-thought out, and useful apps outside of the well-known ones everyone uses today. Congrats to Indigo on what seems to be a successful launch, and I recommend everyone go give it a try.
