My knee is healing nicely, and I managed a very slow hike over the weekend to capture photos for a friend. Easter went amazing as we attended service, had lunch with the in-laws, then had a cookout with my family in the new home.\n\nI didn't write anything for the blog yesterday because there was a bit of dread hanging over everything. I tried to distract myself by getting out on the bike and visiting one of my favorite spots in town. It worked, at least for a moment.\n\nBut today, as with the rest of the world, I'm faced with even more dangerous and horrific news.\n\nThe United States is openly promoting the use of war crimes and genocide over something it caused. It is a war of our own making in league with other genocidal maniacs, and what happens next is on our country regardless of who pulled the trigger.\n\nBeyond civil action and calling our representatives, the best thing we can do is be with our loved ones. Don't be ashamed of seeking distraction in this dark moment.\n\nAll we can hope for is the right people in the right positions of power putting a stop to whatever might be planned. My mind will be on the moon and the beauty we can find in those photos captured by the humans that traveled further in the universe than any other living being.\n\nEarth peeking out from behind the moon\n\nI can only hope that tomorrow is a better day.\n\nIn other news, our large cat Edgar is feeling better after a $600 vet visit confirmed he has an inner ear infection. We've got the medicine we need and he's taking it begrudgingly, so hopefully he'll be back to normal soon.\n\nAlso, thank you to everyone that signed up for the newsletter or left a donation in Buy Me a Coffee. I really appreciate it, and I'll be writing about Apple and tech as usual thanks to your support. Really, every comment, email, and bit of support is a bright spot in the week.",
