Lawmakers want USDA to maintain line speeds in poultry and pork plants, citing food safety

A group of federal lawmakers has asked the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service to stop efforts to raise line speed limits at some poultry-processing facilities and remove maximum speeds for certain pork processors. “Line speed limits exist to protect workers and food safety, and increasing those
