"textContent": "WASHINGTON, June 2, 2026 – FCC Space Bureau Chief **Jay Schwarz** says that new internet policy reforms will bring “more competition, better services, and lower prices” in a May 29 article for The Dallas Morning News.\n\nSchwarz argued that the combination of rapid innovation and recent deregulation have delivered tangible results to Americans, including a 51% increase in download speeds while using 32% more data and a 4.1% drop in prices for wireless subscribers. “This progress has been fueled by two key factors: American ingenuity and the power of competition” Schwarz said in the article.\n\nSee Breakfast Club Membership Options!\n\n\n See Breakfast Club Membership Options\n \n\nHe cited the FCC’s recent move approving EchoStar’s $42.6 billion spectrum sales to SpaceX and AT&T. The transaction transferred about 65 megahertz of spectrum to SpaceX and about 50 megahertz to AT&T, after the FCC had raised concerns about EchoStar’s use of the licenses.\n\nSchwarz also praised the decision to remove power limits established in the 1990s which had previously served as obstacles to insurgent satellite companies such as Starlink and Amazon Leo. This move has drawn pushback from incumbent satellite companies, many of which have argued that loosening satellite power limits could raise interference concerns for existing geostationary systems.\n\nSchwarz views the new changes as conducive to American industry dominance and benefits for U.S. consumers.",
