"textContent": "By now you've probably heard or seen plenty of reactions, reviews, and commentary to Apple's WWDC keynote yesterday so feel free to skip mine a day late.\n\nI used my Threads account to post my reactions / thoughts about the keynote as I was watching it and figured I'd archive them here since Threads will likely become awful at some point in the future.\n\nHey Tim Apple—I really want to play a flying VW bus video game\n\n * iOS 27 supporting all the same iPhones as iOS 26 is great news. No need to find hand me downs for my kid's phones to keep them current. lol\n * Apple's been promising better child / teen screen settings for years. It feels like they'll figure it out just as all my kid's age out of the need for it.\n * I'm honestly shocked how much time they're spending on parental controls in this WWDC keynote. Either they don't have a lot of other content and need filler, or they *really* believe in it this year.\n * Apple stating the obvious: AI is a feature they only want if it helps the user, which helps Apple sell more products.\n * I love the way they're demo'ing the new Siri with much more awareness of information on your device. But these are also very controlled and edited demos, not a live on stage demo like Apple used to do. The proof will be in all the weird edge cases in real life.\n * Siri AI powered by Apple Intelligence... or SAIAI?\n * Siri AI for Safari lets you vibe code custom extensions and automatically change passwords for you on websites. That seems like a recipe for security issues somehow?\n * Apple: Vibe code your own shortcuts in Siri AI for Shortcuts. @stephenrobles: \"oh shit\" 😆\n * I kinda wish iOS would allow me to turn Siri AI photo reframing on automatically for some folks who never edit their photos at all.\n * iOS / macOS 27 Golden Gate available this fall.If Apple didn't keep mentioning the Vision Pro, I'd honestly forget it exists.\n * 👋 saying goodbye to Tim Cook at his last WWDC keynote. What a run taking over from Steve Jobs' giant legacy.\n\n\n\n * Via @db@social.lol: \"wwdc went from \"child safety is important\" to \"we have deepfakes too\"\"\n * Via @rachelskirts@mastodon.social: every person watching this just learned that “agentic” is one of their personal icks\n * Going back to the start of this thread - wouldn't it be so much to go on adventures in a flying VW van?\n\n",
