Bulgarian PM: “Huge Amount of Counterfeit Euros” Planned for Election Interference

Acting Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov has warned that authorities have received intelligence about a significant volume of counterfeit euros allegedly intended for use in vote-buying schemes ahead of the elections.
At a briefing of the Coordination Council on election preparations, Gyurov said the Interior Ministry had already seized over 1 million euros in operations targeting vote buying, adding that this figure reflects a sharp rise in enforcement activity. He also cited a 300% increase in confiscated funds compared with earlier reports to his office.
