This new live captions feature is similar to what is found in FaceTime already, but now, the feature extends to all videos, both streamed, and viewed locally.\n\nThis new accessibility feature is more centered around adding captions to personal videos, but it will work with any videos. The feature will also be limited, initially, to the US and Canada.\n\nAnother big focus for this new feature is privacy. Apple says that the captions are generated privately and securely. Users will have control over their appearance in videos in the playback menu, or in the Settings app.\n\n0:00\n\n/0:06\n\n1×\n\nApple's WWDC26 animation. Source: Apple\n\nBecause the feature is slated for \"later this year,\" the feature is expected to coincide with the updates of iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS 27, releasing later in the fall. Apple will most likely highlight this feature at WWDC on June 8th, so stay tuned for their announcements.\n\nAs for other features, Apple Intelligence and the Liquid Glass look are both, hopefully, expected to get smoother, and the experience should hopefully be much better. The overall hope and goal of iOS 27 for Apple is to make the operating system generally smoother and more stable, rather than a big overhaul.\n\nApple's new live captions feature is interesting and very useful, and shows some of the new features that Apple will be announcing at WWDC26 on June 8th. We will have to wait and see what Apple does soon.",
