Severe weather across Afghanistan caused widespread flooding and landslides that left at least 77 people dead and 137 injured over a 10-day period ending April 4, 2026. The storms affected multiple provinces, damaging thousands of homes and washing away key transport routes. Heavy rains also caused fatalities in neighboring Pakistan, where provincial disaster management authorities said 44 people were killed in recent weeks.
