"Look" at Taylor Swift, who takes #1 with a new points record
As predicted last week, Taylor Swift makes a, well, swift ascent to the top of the Crown 100, pushing past former #1s "Praying" by Kesha and "New Rules" by Dua Lipa to claim the top spot in the second week on the chart for "Look What You Made Me Do." The track also sets a points record previously claimed by "Praying," as it scores more than 380,000 points, the most for any song in a single week ("Praying" reached 319,000 earlier this summer). Due to its late-in-the-week release, look for reputation intro track "...Ready For It?" to bow on next week's chart.
Thus, Dua Lipa slips from the top spot after just one week with "New Rules" at the throne. However, the track is still fighting, with a 2,000-point gain, though it's now more than 100,000 points behind "Look What You Made Me Do." Kesha's "Praying" dips by about 4,000 points, sliding to #3. "Feels" by Calvin Harris featuring Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and Big Sean also drops one spot despite gaining 12,000 points. "Sorry Not Sorry" by Demi Lovato rebounds 8-5.
P!nk holds steady at #6 with "What About Us," from upcoming album Beautiful Trauma. DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts," featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, drops to #7, while Lorde's "Perfect Places" is displaced to #8. Justin Bieber and BloodPop®'s "Friends" falls 4-9, and Portugal. The Man's "Feel It Still" claims a new peak inside the top ten, squeezing into the #10 position over Charlie Puth's "Attention" by just over 100 points.
Several tracks see turnarounds inside the top twenty, including French Montana's Unforgettable, featuring Swae Lee (15-12), Camila Cabello featuring Young Thug with "Havana" (14-13), and Katy Perry's Nicki Minaj-assisted "Swish Swish," which climbs 25-14 after the release of its music video.
Benefitting from a talked-about VMAs performance is Logic's "1-800-273-8255" featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, which leaps 76-28, a 48-spot change bested only by Swift's new chart-topper moving 56-1.
Fifth Harmony has the top debut of the week with "He Like That," in at #47. Demi Lovato has the only other debut in the chart's upper half, coming in at #49 with the title track from her upcoming album, "Tell Me You Love Me."
