"textContent": "Collaborative Group Chats with Personal AI Assistants\n\nI’d love to suggest a feature that could fundamentally change how people collaborate with ChatGPT.\n\nThe problem\n\nToday, collaboration with ChatGPT is isolated. Even when multiple people are working together, each person has to switch between separate conversations with their own AI assistant.\n\nThere is no way for a team to collaborate in a single shared conversation while keeping the benefits of each person’s personalized ChatGPT.\n\nThe idea\n\nAllow multiple ChatGPT users to create a shared group chat where every participant joins with their own personalized ChatGPT assistant, including its memory, preferences, and conversation context.\n\nFor example:\n\n- Alice + her ChatGPT (or other ai)\n\n- Bob + his ChatGPT (or other ai)\n\nInstead of only two humans talking, the conversation becomes a collaborative discussion between multiple people and their own AI assistants.\n\nWhy this is different\n\nThis would enable a completely new style of collaboration:\n\n- Humans exchange ideas naturally.\n\n- Each ChatGPT contributes using its own user’s memory, preferences, and previous conversations.\n\n- AI assistants can participate by responding to both their own user and other participants, while always remaining clearly identified as that user’s assistant.\n\n- AI assistants can also build on each other’s reasoning, creating richer discussions than a traditional group chat.\n\nExample\n\nImagine two people discussing a new product idea.\n\n- Alice proposes an idea.\n\n- Her ChatGPT expands on it.\n\n- Bob points out potential weaknesses.\n\n- His ChatGPT suggests alternative approaches.\n\n- Both AI assistants continue building on each other’s reasoning while the humans guide the discussion.\n\nInstead of ChatGPT being only a question-and-answer tool, it becomes an active participant in collaborative thinking.\n\nPossible features\n\n- Every participant keeps their own personalized ChatGPT.\n\n- Each assistant retains its own memory and customization.\n\n- AI responses are clearly labeled by assistant.\n\n- Users can choose whether their assistant responds automatically or only when mentioned.\n\n- The chat owner can enable or disable AI-to-AI collaboration.\n\n- Participants can temporarily mute or reactivate individual AI assistants.\n\nWhy this matters\n\nMany people already use ChatGPT as a thinking partner. Bringing multiple people and their own personalized AI assistants into a single shared conversation could unlock entirely new ways of brainstorming, planning projects, learning, teaching, researching, and solving complex problems together.\n\nThis would transform ChatGPT from a personal assistant into a true collaborative workspace, where humans and AI think together instead of separately.",
