Received email gifting me a free limit reset

Just wanted to make a post about what seems like a bug or error and it has led me feeling pretty annoyed. Just tried codex a few days ago. Hit my weekly limit quick. Conveniently, I was then sent an email saying “hey here’s a free reset now, and we will give you more if you recruit friends”. I use codex cli and couldn’t find it. So I follow the email and it takes me to the website. To download the app which is not available on Linux. So I try a lot of ways to not have to download windows to do this and it isn’t appearing anywhere. The modal or prompt or whatever just says upgrade plan to pro or refer a friend. As if I dont have the reset really. So I get windows installed to download this app real quick and the same issue. So yeah, guess the email was wrong.
