Paul, You are right. I checked settings and the “Translucent sidebar” was on for some reason. I don’t remember ever setting it. I only changed font sizes and fonts under appearance - to make it more legible. Nonetheless, I fail to understand why the setting only kicks in when in Maximized mode or why this setting is needed to begin with. Thanks for your help.
