Feature Request: Inline "Mini-Chat" Pop-up for Quick Clarifications
Hello Everyone,
While using ChatGPT today, I noticed a friction point in the workflow and wanted to suggest a new feature to improve the user experience, especially when dealing with long, detailed responses.
The Problem: When ChatGPT generates a lengthy reply and I get confused by a specific concept in the middle of the text, I currently have to scroll all the way down to the main input box at the bottom to ask my question. This breaks the reading flow and often forces me to manually quote or re-explain the part I was confused about.
The Proposed Solution: It would be incredibly helpful to have an inline “mini-chat” or small pop-up window that can be triggered right where you are reading (perhaps by highlighting a specific sentence or clicking a small tooltip icon).
This pop-up would retain the full context of the ongoing conversation.
It would act as a temporary side-thread, allowing users to ask quick, targeted questions about that specific section without losing their place in the main text block.
The Impact: This would create a much smoother UI/UX experience. Users could resolve small doubts on the fly without having to constantly jump back and forth between the middle of a response and the bottom prompt bar.
Would love to hear what the community and developers think of this!
