Gpt-Image-2 lets you create new (or edited versions of) negative (inverted) images.

Image processing software like IrfanView lets you do it for free in milliseconds…and never denies the output.

If you have a true negative as input, scanned from process color film, it would be interesting to see how AI copes or modifies with an instruction to “print” the photograph. Value inversion alone won’t work. Different stock has different gamma curves and amount of orange mask. Then a positive result must be computationally in-gamut of the destination color space (such as sRGB for an internet forum that converts images without using their embedded color profile).
