"textContent": "I’d like to request a ChatGPT interface feature that would make long conversations much easier to navigate:\n\nPrompt-First View / Collapse Assistant Responses\n\nProblem:\nIn long ChatGPT conversations, especially project-based chats, the user’s own prompts often become the natural table of contents for the conversation. But assistant responses can be long, detailed, and multi-sectioned. As a result, finding a previous answer often requires scrolling through large blocks of assistant text just to locate the original user prompt that started that part of the conversation.\n\nThis is especially frustrating on mobile, where long assistant replies can take up multiple screens and make older parts of a conversation hard to revisit.\n\nProposed solution:\nAdd a view or toggle that allows users to automatically collapse assistant responses while keeping user prompts expanded.\n\nPossible implementation:\n\n * Collapse all assistant responses\n * Show only my prompts\n * Expand/collapse individual assistant responses\n * Show collapsed replies as compact cards\n * Include a short auto-generated title, timestamp, preview, and expand button\n * Optional search filter for “search my prompts only”\n\n\n\nExample:\nInstead of scrolling through every long assistant response, a user could quickly scan their own prompts:\n\n“What is the best Praxis 5355 study plan?”\n“How should I prepare for the pre-screening interview?”\n“Give me click-by-click instructions until test day.”\n“How do I respond to this email?”\n\nThen the user could expand only the assistant response they actually need.\n\nWhy this matters:\nFor users who use ChatGPT for real projects, research, writing, troubleshooting, education, career planning, workflow building, or ongoing personal organization, long chats become valuable archives. But they are currently difficult to navigate once the conversation gets long.\n\nThis feature would turn the user’s own prompts into a usable conversation outline without requiring manual bookmarks, separate summaries, or starting new chats.\n\nProduct value:\nThis would improve long-chat usability, mobile navigation, project continuity, accessibility, and the usefulness of ChatGPT as a long-term productivity tool.\n\nThis does not require changing the model’s behavior. It is mainly an interface/navigation improvement that would make existing conversations easier to use.",
