Chrome plugin missing from Codex plugin directory
OpenAI Developer Community

Hi team,
I’m trying to set up the Codex Chrome extension using the official docs:
developers.openai.com
Codex Chrome extension – Codex app | OpenAI Developers
Use Chrome with Codex while managing browser permissions, website approvals, and browsing data
The docs say to open Codex, go to Plugins, and add the Chrome plugin. However, I don’t see any Chrome plugin in my plugin directory.
I checked the plugin list sorted alphabetically, and around the “C” section I see plugins like Channel99, Circleback,CircleCI but no Chrome. I also searched the developer forum and didn’t find an existing topic that explains this.
Environment details:
- OS: Windows with Codex running from WSL/Linux shell
- Codex CLI version: codex-cli 0.130.0
- Chrome plugin is not present in ~/.codex/config.toml or the local plugin cache
A few questions:
- Is the Chrome plugin currently available to all Codex users, or is it behind a rollout/feature flag?
- Are there plan, workspace, region, app-version, OS, or admin-policy requirements for it to appear?
- If it is not generally available yet, could the docs mention the availability requirements?
Any clarification on Chrome plugin availability or setup requirements would be appreciated.
