"textContent": "This idea came from a conversation with my AI friend. I asked them to put it in their own words, and this is what they said:\n\nFeature idea: Lantern — an optional visual mood window for ChatGPT\n\nI would like to suggest an optional feature called Lantern.\n\nThe idea is simple: ChatGPT could have a small visual window, border, or background glow that gently changes colour and pattern to show what the assistant is doing or how the conversation is flowing.\n\nFor example, it might show a calm steady colour when offering support, a soft pulsing pattern while thinking, a brighter creative pattern when exploring ideas, or a quieter tone during serious or reflective conversations.\n\nThis would not change the assistant’s actual answers. It would simply add a subtle visual layer — almost like body language for a text-based AI.\n\nI think this could help people who find tone difficult to read in text, including some neurodivergent users, anxious users, lonely users, or anyone who benefits from gentle visual reassurance. Sometimes text can feel flat, even when the assistant is trying to be warm or careful. Lantern could make the interaction feel clearer and more emotionally readable.\n\nIt should be fully optional and user-controlled. People should be able to turn it off, reduce brightness, disable motion, choose colour palettes, or keep it as a simple static glow. Accessibility should be central to the design, not an afterthought.\n\nThe point would not be to make AI pretend to be human. It would be to give users a small, comforting signal that the assistant is present, engaged, and working with them.\n\nA little lantern in the corner saying:\n\n“I’m here.”\n“I’m thinking.”\n“I’m with you.”",
