"textContent": "Exact same thing happened to me.\n\nI contacted the OpenAI support team, and they said that the issue might be due to me accessing from multiple devices, and that they could not lift the usage restriction and told me to wait until the next limit reset date. I have attached their response below.\n\nIt is truly remarkable that they are making an issue out of me accessing from just three devices: my home desktop, my work desktop, and my personal smartphone. To think this is the value of $100 per month.\n\nHello,\n\nThank you for reaching out to OpenAI Support.\n\nI understand why you are concerned, especially since this interrupted your work and you want to avoid the same issue happening again. I reviewed the details you shared, and I want to clarify how this restriction works and the most practical path forward.\n\nYour Pro subscription includes unlimited access to GPT-5, but that access is still subject to automated abuse and security guardrails. A temporary restriction like the one you saw does not by itself mean your account was confirmed to have violated policy. These controls can also be triggered by unusual account activity patterns, including multiple concurrent sessions, different devices, and different networks being used at the same time.\n\nBased on the usage pattern you described, two Windows PCs, one Android device, home and university networks, and simultaneous activity through a remote connection, it is likely that this combination triggered the temporary restriction on the Pro model. Even when the activity is legitimate and all devices belong to you, that pattern can resemble the signals our systems are designed to review.\n\nI also want to set expectations clearly. I understand why you requested a manual review and immediate removal of the restriction. However, support cannot manually bypass or permanently exempt an account from this temporary Pro model restriction before the reset shown in ChatGPT. Access should return automatically once that reset time passes.\n\nTo reduce the chance of this happening again after the reset, please follow these steps:\n\n1. Sign out of all devices.\n\n2. Sign back in on one trusted device only.\n\n3. Use one trusted network only for a period of time.\n\n4. Avoid simultaneous sessions across multiple machines or networks.\n\n5. Disable any VPN, proxy, Private Relay, browser automation, or remote workflows that create parallel activity while you test.\n\n6. Make sure your browser or ChatGPT app is fully up to date.\n\nSince you already have 2FA enabled, that is a good security measure and worth keeping on.\n\nHelpful Help Center articles:\n\nAbout ChatGPT Pro tiers\n\nTroubleshooting Model Feature Access Issues\n\nI understand this is not the immediate outcome you were hoping for. If the restriction is still present after the reset time while you are using one trusted device and one trusted network only, we are here to continue helping from there.\n\nBest,\n\nFrancis\n\nOpenAI Support",
