"textContent": "Hello, there is a long-standing bug on ChatGPT for macOS where selecting the reasoning effort of models is not possible because it doesn’t appear. This is however possible on ChatGPT web and ChatGPT iOS/Android. This is a major issue as every time I want to tweak the reasoning effort I need to switch to ChatGPT web, making the ChatGPT macOS app very inconvenient.\n\nI attached five screenshots to show the issue:\n\n-- The first two screenshots are from the desktop app ChatGPT for macOS and you can see that it’s missing the reasoning effort selector. It’s missing from both the Pro and the Thinking models.\n\n-- The two next screenshots are from ChatGPT web and you can see that it’s possible to choose the thinking effort. The option also appears in ChatGPT for iOS so it’s really a bug specific to ChatGPT for macOS.\n\nCould you fix this? This problem has been happening for months, maybe a year.\n\nThank you\n\n* * *\n\n**ChatGPT for macOS** :\n\n**ChatGPT web** : see screenshots below\n\n**ChatGPT for iOS** : see screenshots below\n\n* * *\n\nI’m using ChatGPT 1.2026.104 on macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 (25E253).",
