"textContent": "I started a codex cli session with 100% of my weekly and 5hr quotas. After the session ran for a bit, I was down to ~53% of my 5 hr quota with a fair portion of my weekly quota left, **but it also consumed > 200 credits without explanation**.\n\nI had not used codex for at least a few days, so it shouldn’t be the 12 hour delay that the usage page reports. Has anyone else run into this, or know why it would consume credits while there is plenty of my quota available?\n\nAs an aside, there’s plenty of people sharing critical feedback about the new usage model. I think one thing that could help is giving us better usage reporting. If a single prompt will burn through 50% of my 5 hour quota on a plus plan, I should be able to see exactly what is using it and in real time.\n\nAdditionally, credits are ultimately currency in the world of codex. When you purchase something, you expect a receipt immediately - nobody would be willing to wait 12 hours for the receipt to arrive. I’m sorry, but I find this completely unacceptable. Sudden plan/billing changes that impact something we’ve already purchased, closing the mega thread for quota feedback without any input from OpenAI, and now disappearing credits without any kind of transparency or traceability… There’s another thread where a user hit negative thousands of credits when using a feature called “hard limit”, and OpenAI’s response was that a hard limit isn’t a hard limit and it takes time to catch up.\n\nI really do like codex, but I’m having a really hard time trusting OpenAI now. You really need to do better to provide transparency, accountability, and set clear expectations. I’d really like to know if others are having these same concerns, and I would love a response from the official support team.",
