  "textContent": "Codex Windows desktop client has a bug with the New Thread button.\n\nExpected behavior:\nClicking New Thread should create a new conversation and immediately navigate to it.\n\nActual behavior:\nFrom the UI, the button appears non-functional. However, logs show that thread creation succeeds, but the desktop UI does not open or render the new thread.\n\nEnvironment:\n\n  * Product: Codex Windows desktop client\n  * Version: OpenAI.Codex 26.409.7971.0\n  * App-server / CLI version: 0.119.0-alpha.28\n  * Platform: Windows\n\n\n\nWhat I already tried:\n\n  * Repair\n  * Reset\n  * Uninstall and reinstall\n\n\n\nResult:\nThe issue still persists after reinstall.\n\nRelevant logs:\n\n  * 2026-04-15 08:38:37: thread/start returned successfully\n  * 2026-04-15 08:39:24: Conversation created\n\n\n\nConclusion:\nBackend thread creation succeeds, but the Windows desktop frontend does not correctly navigate to or render the new thread.",
