However, pinning is best suited for **short-term priority conversations that the user is actively working on**.\n\nA **Star Chat feature** would serve a different purpose: it would allow users to **mark important chats for long-term reference** without affecting the normal order of chats in the sidebar.\n\n### Suggested Behavior\n\n  * **Pin Chat (existing feature):**\n\n    * Pinned chats always remain at the **top of the sidebar**.\n\n    * Used for chats that are **currently active or frequently accessed**.\n\n  * **Star Chat (new feature):**\n\n    * A star icon () could appear next to each chat.\n\n    * Starred chats would appear in a **separate “Starred” tab or section** in the sidebar.\n\n    * This would allow users to easily revisit important chats without scrolling through many conversations.\n\n\n\n\n### Example Sidebar Layout\n\nPinned\n• Current Project Discussion\n\nStarred\n• Python Automation Script\n• Study Notes\n• Important Technical Explanations\n\nRecent\n• Other normal conversations\n\n### Why This Feature Would Be Useful\n\nMany users use ChatGPT for **learning, coding, studying, and long-term projects**.
