Story writing - change in writing style

Hi While using free ChatGPt it was following my writing prompts and we did well. Then I updated. Now it keeps writing in single sentences with now proper flow or paragraph I have to keep re-prompting then after 1 scene it back to single sentencing. Can someone help me with correct prompts please? I might be doing something wrong as I cannot believe CHatgpt is so badly designed.
