"value": "# The Beginning\n\nThe very first **rpg.actor** game jam has officially concluded. Some games were made, and over 100 characters were registered during its run from April 1st to 20th! We're thrilled to have welcomed so many new creators and players into the compendium. Thank you all for joining us!\n\nNow... Picking winners from a glut of games can be challenging, but let's suffice to say that sorting winners from among *exactly three entrants* is a humbling lesson, and far more difficult to discern. We may be a little more ahead of the curve with these **Atmosphere Games** than we realized...\n\nNevertheless, after careful deliberation we are thrilled to announce:\n\n**First Place** goes to [**@todi.wtf** ](https://rpg.actor/todi.wtf)for *[Guildhall](https://guildhall.todi.wtf/)* which is a streaming overlay game for OBS that lets you and your friends join forces around the campfire and battle monsters for gold and glory!\n\n[](https://guildhall.todi.wtf/)\n\n**Second Place** goes to [**@psywombats.bsky.social**](https://rpg.actor/psywombats.bsky.social) for *[Character Compendium Coliseum](https://psy-wombats.itch.io/ccc)* which takes the entire collection of sprites and pits them against one another in tiered battles in the first Unity game!\n\n[](https://psy-wombats.itch.io/ccc)\n\n\n**Third Place** honours for **[@techtastic1.bsky.social](https://rpg.actor/techtastic1.bsky.social)** (aka **[@godotguy.rpg.actor](https://rpg.actor/godotguy.rpg.actor)**) for... well, they never submitted a game, but they gave us working [Godot Plugins](https://rpg.actor/plugins) which is absolutely crazy!\n\n\n\n*This really was not an easy division. Everyone worked hard, and in completely new territory.*\n> THANK YOU ALL FOR PARTICIPATING!\n\nEach of them have been upgraded to a [**creator account**](https://rpg.actor/creator) capable of generating new items and characters, and as a bonus we're sending them each a medal to wear!\n\n[@todi.wtf](https://rpg.actor/todi.wtf) also gets the grand prize: **An Original Boxed Copy of RPG Maker 2000!**\n\n\n\n## Experiences Worth Playing\n\nAll games have found permanent home on the updated **[Experiences](https://rpg.actor/experiences)** page. We expect to keep adding to this as more games, worlds, and *things to do* with your **rpg.actor** characters become available on the wider social web.\n\nHead over and give them a try today!\n\nGot one of your own that you've been working on? [Get in touch and we'll feature it!](https://bsky.app/profile/rpg.actor)\n\n## Places Worth Staying\n\nParallel to **[Experiences](https://rpg.actor/experiences)** we've been putting more effort into what we're calling **Places**.\n\nEarlier we released [The Theatre](https://rpg.actor/theatre) which has now been updated to showcase LIVE [stream.place](https://stream.place) video, complete with a sign-up booth if you want to be on the big screen. We also put forth our own little minigame called [Clun's Cannon](https://rpg.actor/cannon) where you hop in a cannon and launch yourself across the sky.\n\n[](https://rpg.actor/theatre)\n\nThese first two **Places** share some programatical backing stuffs, and are starting to create a sort of uniform playspace that we want to keep expanding. We'll keep expanding these internally while also supporting the external **Experiences** made by others. Between the two, we're going to have *a lot* of different spots for your **rpg.actor** characters to hang out.\n\n[](https://rpg.actor/cannon)\n\n\n## New Generator Parts!\n\nThe [Sprite Generator](https://rpg.actor/generator) has grown considerably more expressive during the jam period as well. [Isilmë](https://reverie.house/isilme.reverie.house) as blessed us with some new wardrobe arrivals, including a wide selection of **facial hair**. If you're looking for some stubble, a beard, or even curly moustaches, we've got you covered.\n\n[](https://rpg.actor/generator)\n\n\nWe've also added another new complex trait category... HIND *(as in behind!)* These are for things strapped to your character's rear, like our new backpacks or, well... let's not spoil what's to come.\n\n[](https://rpg.actor/generator)\n\n> Take a read of our prior post [Layers of Complexity](https://rpg.actor/news/layers-of-complexity) to learn how to make your own!\n\n## Cleaning Up (Words)\n\nA good chunk of post-jam energy went into polish that doesn't make for flashy announcements but *does* make the site feel better to use. The header and login flow received some updates, and various navigation elements across the site have been tidied up. It's finally feeling like a real website!\n\nAlso, we've also taken to calling your logins **Atmosphere Accounts** rather than wrestling the techie word-salad of saying... *\"use your AT Protocol identity from your personal data server (you can also use a Bluesky account!)\"* It just makes sense.\n\n**Atmosphere Accounts!**\n\n## And Then?\n\nThe jam is over. *(cry)*... but the compendium is still open, and we're just starting!\n\nStay tuned as we keep rolling out these updates, and [follow along](https://bsky.app/profile/rpg.actor) to meet new **rpg.actor** players and creators. There's more [Experiences](https://rpg.actor/experiences) to try and [Places](https://rpg.actor/cannon) to visit coming soon, plus we're nowhere near done adding more [TTRPG systems](https://rpg.actor/systems), wardrobe parts for the [Generator](https://rpg.actor/generator) and lots more to come.\n"
