  "textContent": "### Upcoming Municipal Meetings March 2–3 in Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit\n\nInfrastructure funding in Rockton, zoning changes in Roscoe and a police hire in South Beloit are among the items on local agendas as municipal meetings take place March 2–3, 2026.\n\n* * *\n\n**Here’s what’s included on Rockton’s agenda this week.**\n\nRockton Village Hall, 110 E. Main St., Rockton.\n\nRockton trustees have road funding, spending approvals, and the annual Easter Egg Hunt on this week’s agenda as village officials meet Monday and Tuesday at Village Hall.\n\nThe Administration Committee meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, followed by the Public Works Committee at 6:30 p.m.\n\nTrustees will consider Resolution 2026-108 authorizing $234,938.72 in motor fuel tax (MFT) funds for the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Rockton Road project. The funding is also listed for consideration by the full Village Board, which meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 3.\n\nOther spending items include $4,754.05 for pool slide parts and installation components, a $1,884.99 laptop purchase, and $3,695 for upgrades to the village’s fluoride chemical storage system.\n\nThe annual Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for April 4 at 10 a.m. in Settlers Park, is also up for approval.\n\nThe Budget & Finance Committee meets at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday before the Village Board convenes at 7 p.m. Trustees are scheduled to consider proposed purchasing procedure updates, the potential sale of certain village property, Rockton Road funding, and the Easter Egg Hunt request.\n\nAn executive session is listed to discuss personnel matters.\n\n* * *\n\n**Upcoming items for Roscoe trustees**\n\nRoscoe Village Hall, 10631 Main St., Roscoe.\n\nZoning changes, sand and gravel operations and new Main Street flags are among the items heading before Roscoe trustees at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Village Hall, 10631 Main St.\n\nTrustees will consider a zoning map amendment and revisions tied to ongoing sand and gravel operations at Rogers Ready Mix. The board will also review an alternate natural gas supply agreement for village-owned buildings.\n\nAnother item would authorize the purchase of 55 American flags for Main Street at a cost of $6,455.\n\nSeveral special event permits are also on the agenda, including the Roscoe Community Market, the Stateline YMCA Stonebridge Half Marathon and 5K, the NorthPointe Triathlon and Fitness Fun Fair, and Gigi’s Playhouse Dash for Down Syndrome 5K.\n\nFollowing the board meeting, the Committee of the Whole will meet to continue discussion on Bridge Street parking lot repairs, DJ cruise nights at Mary’s Market, membership in a statewide public works mutual aid network, subdivision signage easements and other village matters.\n\nFinal actions for accepting public improvements within the Hawks Pointe Plat 5 project are also on the agenda.\n\nAn executive session is listed to discuss setting a price for the potential sale or lease of village-owned property.\n\nThe Roscoe Zoning Board of Appeals is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 11.\n\nRemote attendance information for Roscoe meetings.\n\n* * *\n\n**What’s ahead for South Beloit City Council**\n\nSouth Beloit City Hall, 519 Blackhawk Blvd., South Beloit.\n\nSouth Beloit leaders are set to take up several personnel and zoning matters when the City Council meets at 5 p.m. Monday, March 2, at City Hall, 519 Blackhawk Blvd.\n\nCouncil members are scheduled to vote on hiring Djordje Djordjic at $28.57 per hour, with a swearing-in ceremony to follow if approved.
