standard.horse is neat but markdown still sucks

Using a markdown editor is super annoying as \* means 3 different things. bold and it's overriding regular HTML tags. The point of markdown was shortcuts for some html tags that made sense as ascii plaintext, but letting through other HTML tags as well. Whatever this is doing is wrong.
