Miguel Phonk refers to phonk remixes and songs where the n-word is repeated, the titles of the tracks misleading listeners into believing that the name "Miguel" is being repeated instead. The original Miguel phonk remix is based on the song "Matadora" by DJ Asul, and was created and posted online by Mc A-store in May 2026. Mc A-store's Miguel phonk remix, and other Miguel phonk remixes, were popularized on sites including TikTok, YouTube and Instagram Reels between May and June 2026. The remixes are often set to meme-related videos and imagery, including the Angry Bird ear meme and imagery of George Floyd. The remixes employ a similar tactic as the neck hurt memes, which paint someone's liberal use of the n-word as another word or phrase.
