  "textContent": "Crunchyroll and Shueisha announced that the anime adaptation of the manga _Black Torch_ will air on Sony’s streaming service, and it currently has a July 2026 launch window. The 100studio project will be a simulcast series, and people with a subscription in any region except Asia will get access.\n\nThe series follows Jiro Azuma, a high schooler and ninja who ends up befriending and fusing with the Black Star of Doom mononoke Rago. Due to other spirits seeking out Rago’s powers and the situation, the pair then join the Bureau of Espionage to hunt down hostile mononoke. As the series is a relatively short one that only spanned five volumes, it’s unknown if the entire story will be told in a single season yet.\n\nHere’s the latest _Black Torch_ anime trailer. While we do hear one of the theme songs, the footage mainly shows us what main characters Jiro Azuma, Rago, Ichika Kishimojin, and Reiji Kirihara.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL_biwm-hxU\n\n100studio is a relatively new anime studio, so they might not be immediately familiar. Some of their two currently available shows are _Quality Assurance in Another World_ and _The Mononoke Lecture Logs of Chuzenji-sensei_.
