"textContent": "Macworld\n\nWe’re still recovering from the price hikes Apple announced on Thursday. One way to avoid the new prices is to shop at Amazon during its Prime Day sales event, but if you’ve yet to act, you may have missed out. For example, Amazon U.S. no longer has the MacBook Neo without Touch ID in stock, which it was selling for $590. And after the Prime Day sale officially ends today, we don’t know what prices are going to look like.\n\nWhere else can you turn? There’s Apple’s Certified Refurbished Store, where Apple has increased the value to essentially match the older prices. Anything bought from Apple’s refurb store will look and work like new, and you even get a full 1-year warranty, more than you get from most used storefronts. Here are a few MacBooks you can get there right now.\n\n## MacBook Neo\n\nEugen Wegmann\n\nThat $599 MacBook Neo that is now $699 exists in the Certified Refurbished store. All the colors are in stock–for now. Stock is limited, so act soon than later. See the $599 MacBook Neo on the Apple Certified Refurbished Store.\n\nThe MacBook Neo with Touch ID and a 512GB SSD is $679. That’s $120 less than the new $799 price for that model. You can find it at Amazon for $690 if you’d rather have a brand new one, but if Amazon’s stock runs out, the Certified Refurbished Store is an option.\n\nSee the MacBook Neo inventory in the Apple Certified Refurbished Store.\n\n## MacBook Air\n\nDominic Preston / Foundry\n\nA refurbished **13-inch M5 MacBook Air is $1,099** , which is the old price of this model when new–the new price is $1,299, so you can avoid the $200 hike.\n\nThe **15-inch M5 MacBook Air is $1,269** , which is $230 lower than the price of a new one. This price also happens to be $30 off the old price.\n\nSee the M5 MacBook Air inventory in the Apple Certified Refurbished Store.\n\n## MacBook Pro\n\nFoundry\n\n * The **14-inch M5 MacBook Pro is $1,439.** Apple increased the price of a new model to $1,999, which is really brutal. So that refurb looks more attractive now.\n * The 14-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro is $2,119. That’s $230 less than the new price.\n * The **16-inch M5 Pro MacBook Pro is $2,549** , which is $250 less than a new model.\n * The **16-inch M5 Max (18-core CPU, 40-core GPU) MacBook Pro is $4,249** , a savings of $450 from the new model.\n\n\n\nSee the MacBook Pro inventory in the Apple Certified Refurbished Store.\n\n## Refurbished versus new\n\nA refurbished MacBook is one that was returned to Apple by a customer. Apple takes these Macs, replaces any parts if necessary, tests them thoroughly, and cleans them up. Apple takes great care of these Macs, and they look as good as new. Apple includes a one-year limited warranty, 90 days of technical support, and offers AppleCare. Learn more about refurbished Macs.",
