"textContent": "Macworld\n\nGoogle announced on Tuesday two new features for its Chrome browser. Both features were designed to help users be more productive while using the browser.\n\nThe first new feature is the ability to display tabs vertically in the browser, along the side of the window. The default is to display tabs along the top, but to switch to vertical view, right-click on the Chrome window, and you’ll find a new _Show Tabs Vertically_ option. Select it, and the tabs move to the side and stack rather than occupy a horizontal bar above the main window.\n\nSafari has a similar feature in the sidebar, but it doesn’t replace the top tab bar.\n\nHow to display tabs vertically in Google Chrome.\n\nGoogle\n\nThe second feature is an enhancement to reading mode, which displays a webpage free of images, videos, ads, and other components and shows only text with links. Before the update, the reading mode page appeared alongside the actual, complete webpage. Now, reading mode is available in a full-page interface. The Immersive Reader mode is similar to Safari’s Reader (_View_ > _Show Reader_), though Safari’s is able to display images.\n\nGoogle Chrome’s Immersive Reading Mode appears as its own webpage instead of splitting the view between it and the actual website.\n\n\n\n\nGoogle\n\nThe new features are available in the latest version of Google Chrome. If you already have Chrome, you can install the update through _Chrome_ > _About Chrome_.",
