  "textContent": "Friends,\n\nAs you know, I try to show up where decisions are being made, where power is on display, and where real conversations (or spectacles) happen. That's why I want to cover **Ford Fest** in late June.\n\nFor those unfamiliar, Ford Fest is Ontario Premier Doug Ford's annual summer barbecue. It's _part picnic, part political rally,_ and a fascinating window into Ontario's brand of populism, which I have not covered in the same way I have with the federal Conservative Party. I want to be there to watch, listen, and report back on what actually happens when thousands of people show up for a beer and a handshake with the Premier.\n\n**Here's the catch:** I need to get there. And right now, I can't afford to.\n\nSo I'm asking: **Can you chip in?**\n\nIf 50 of you give $10, I'm there. If 100 people give $5, the same result. No amount is too small.
