The two foreign ministers also agreed to remain in close contact on matters of mutual interest and regional developments.\n\nAraghchi also held separate telephone conversations on Friday with the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan, South Korea, Romania and Britain to discuss the implementation of the recently signed peace memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States.\n\nAccording to the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Araghchi briefed his counterparts on the implementation of the MoU, ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington towards a final agreement, and related diplomatic consultations, stressing the importance of sustained engagement.\n\nDuring his call with British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, the two ministers discussed regional developments and the US-Iran negotiations, reaffirming their commitment to regional stability, Iran's Mehr news agency reported.\n\nUzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Romanian Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Toiu welcomed efforts to de-escalate tensions in West Asia and underscored the importance of all parties honouring their commitments under the peace process, according to the Iranian ministry.\n\nSouth Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun expressed support for diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace and stability, with particular emphasis on maritime security.\n\nThe Iran-US peace MoU, signed on June 18, ended months of conflict across multiple fronts, including Lebanon.
