"textContent": "ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is expected to pay a one-day visit to Pakistan on Tuesday, government sources in Islamabad told Anadolu on Monday.\n\nIf the visit materialises, it will mark Pezeshkian’s first overseas trip since the United States and Israel launched a joint military campaign against Iran in late February. An official confirmation of the trip from the foreign ministries is still awaited.\n\nPakistan has positioned itself as the primary mediator between the warring factions following an April 8 ceasefire. The US and Iran recently signed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding to halt hostilities and held a round of direct, high-level negotiations in Switzerland over the weekend.\n\nDuring his brief stay in Islamabad, Pezeshkian is scheduled to hold separate meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.\n\nPrime Minister Sharif returned from the Swiss lake city of Bürgenstock, where he chaired high-stakes quadrilateral peace talks between the United States, Iran, Pakistan, and Qatar on Sunday.\n\nPezeshkian last paid an official state visit to Islamabad in August.\n\nThe post Iranian president expected to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow appeared first on HUM News English.",
