Karachi and Lahore Garrisons hold ceremonies to honour Pakistan Army martyrs and veterans.

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Army held special ceremonies in Karachi and Lahore on Tuesday to honour its martyrs and veterans, paying tribute to their sacrifices, service and commitment to the country.

The events were attended by senior military officials, families of martyrs and recipients of military honours, according to a statement, according to ISPR.

Awards conferred on families of martyrs and veterans

In Karachi, a dignified ceremony was organised to recognise the sacrifices of fallen soldiers and the contributions of veterans.

During the event, families of martyrs and veterans were presented with the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat.

The Corps Commander Karachi, who attended as the chief guest, met the families of the martyrs and paid tribute to their courage and resilience.

He lauded the sacrifices rendered by the armed forces in the defence of the country and reaffirmed the army’s commitment to supporting the families of those who had laid down their lives in the line of duty.

Senior military officers and close relatives of martyrs also attended the ceremony.

A similar ceremony was held in Lahore Garrison, where the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lahore Garrison was the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, the GOC said the Pakistan Army had earned international recognition for its professionalism and operational capabilities.

He assured the families of martyrs and veterans that the institution would continue to provide them with every possible assistance and support.

“Our martyrs and veterans are our true strength and pride. The nation can never forget their everlasting sacrifices,” he said.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the martyrs and expressions of solidarity with their families, whose sacrifices were described as an enduring source of inspiration for the nation.
