Police constable killed in militant attack on Duki police station, search operation underway

A policeman was killed and another injured after unidentified militants launched an armed attack on the Narhan police station in Duki district in Balochistan. According to police officials, the attackers used sophisticated weapons to target the police station. Security personnel stationed at the facility returned fire, triggering an exchange of gunfire. Police said Constable Syed Hassan was killed in the attack, while Constable Muhammad Wali sustained injuries. Both were shifted to a hospital, where the deceased officer was pronounced dead and the injured officer received medical treatment. Officials claimed that at least three unidentified militants were wounded during the retaliatory firing by police personnel. Following the attack, teams from Duki police, the Quick Response Force, district police and the Frontier Corps (FC) rushed to the scene and secured the area. Police said a search operation was underway to trace and apprehend the suspected attackers who were believed to have fled after the assault. Authorities are also searching for the militants reportedly injured during the exchange of fire. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. The incident comes amid ongoing security challenges in parts of Balochistan, where law enforcement agencies have faced a series of militant attacks in recent months.
