"textContent": "ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Tuesday said the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was under control and that authorities were ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and property.\n\nSpeaking to journalists at Parliament House, Chaudhry was asked whether the situation in AJK had stabilised. He replied, “The situation in Azad Kashmir is under control, and the lives and property of the people are being protected.”\n\nReferring to recent unrest in the region, the minister said a banned organisation was being “exposed”, adding that an audio recording had also surfaced a day earlier.\n\nChaudhry said the federal government had acted sincerely to address demands raised in AJK and had begun implementing them. However, he questioned the motives of those continuing protests despite progress on the demands.\n\n“The federal government had started implementing all the demands in a very sincere manner,” he said. “Despite that, these developments indicate that their objectives may be something else.”\n\nThe minister stressed that the people of Kashmir have the right to legislate through their elected representatives. “It is the right of Kashmiris to make laws,” he said, asking whether some elements wanted to transfer that legislative authority to others.\n\nHe maintained that the federal government had left no stone unturned in addressing issues related to AJK and reiterated that normalcy had largely returned across the region.\n\n“Whether it is Rawalakot or other areas, the situation is under control and everything is normal,” Chaudhry said. When asked about the number of deaths reported during the unrest, the minister said the government would issue a detailed press release on the matter.\n\nHis remarks came amid continued debate over recent protests and security-related developments in AJK.\n\nThe post Talal Chaudhry claims situation in AJK under ‘control’, questions motives behind protests appeared first on HUM News English.",
