"textContent": "Aamir Khan Productions have unveiled the first look of upcoming historical drama, now titled _Batwara 1947_ , ahead of its theatrical release scheduled for August 14, 2026.\n\nThe project was earlier referred to as _Lahore 1947_ , but the makers have now confirmed the final title along with a promotional video offering the first visuals from the film.\n\nhttps://twitter.com/AKPPL_Official/status/2064218925832024184\n\nThe film is produced by Aamir Khan under Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. It marks a collaboration between the two filmmakers alongside Sunny Deol, who was recently seen in a sequel of _Gadar_ , another historical drama on Partition 1947.\n\nThe first-look material shows scenes set against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of the Indian subcontinent. Promotional visuals include Sunny Deol with Preity Zinta and Karan Deol, as well as sequences depicting movement through conflict-affected areas.\n\nThe film has also drawn attention due to the collaboration between Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi, who have previously worked together on films including _Ghayal_ , _Damini_ and _Ghatak_.\n\nThe cast includes Preity Zinta in a key role, marking her return to films alongside Sunny Deol. Other members of the cast include Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh.\n\nSunny Deol’s recent box office performance, including _Gadar 2_ , and anticipation around _Border 2_ have also contributed to interest in the project.
