  "textContent": "_By Hussain Ahmad_\n\nCHILAS: Supporters of a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate came under fire in the Doodhshal area of GBA-17 Darel, in an incident that has raised tensions ahead of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections.\n\nAccording to reports, unidentified armed individuals targeted a vehicle carrying supporters of PML-N nominee Dr Muhammad Zaman. The candidate later confirmed the incident.\n\nDr Zaman said no casualties were reported as a result of the firing incident. However, he termed the attack “open terrorism” and stressed the need for peaceful elections in the region.\n\nHe also alleged that the incident was linked to political rivalry, naming Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Muhammad Naseem as responsible for the attack.
