"textContent": "Raising the slogan '7 June, Noon he Noon', Capt (R) Muhammad Safdar Awan made an appearance in Hunza as PML-N's election campaign for Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) election gained momentum. He was accompanied by senior party figures, Khurram Dastagir and Abid Sher Ali, who urged voters to back the party's candidates and pledged a new wave of development projects for the region.\n\nAddressing party workers, Former MNA Safdar, the spouse of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, called on supporters to rally behind the PML-N in the June 7 elections.\n\n### Safdar promises continued focus on Gilgit-Baltistan\n\nSafdar, said the PML-N remained committed to serving the people of Gilgit-Baltistan despite political challenges faced by the party over the years.\n\nHe claimed Nawaz Sharif had repeatedly been prevented from completing his development agenda through political conspiracies and setbacks. According to Safdar, several major national projects could have transformed the country had they been allowed to continue uninterrupted.\n\nSafdar added the party envisioned Gilgit-Baltistan becoming a key trade corridor linking Pakistan and China and promised expanded educational opportunities in the region. He also spoke of plans for higher education institutions and welfare initiatives aimed at improving living standards.\n\nSafdar told supporters that the PML-N would not abandon Gilgit-Baltistan and would continue working for the region’s development regardless of political circumstances.\n\nConcluding the event, party leaders urged voters to support PML-N candidates in the June 7 elections, with Safdar declaring that “June 7 will belong to the PML-N.”\n\n### PML-N leaders tout Nawaz Sharif’s development record\n\nSpeaking at the convention, former federal minister Dastgir credited Nawaz Sharif with strengthening Pakistan and enhancing the country's security and economic standing.\n\nHe said the region had benefited from policies initiated during Nawaz Sharif’s previous governments and argued that strong national leadership had helped safeguard strategic areas such as Gilgit-Baltistan.\n\nAbid Sher Ali, who claimed that he was visiting Hunza for the first time, urged voters to support the PML-N if they wanted development and prosperity similar to that seen in Punjab.\n\n“If you want Nawaz Sharif’s vision for Hunza, then vote for the lion,” he told supporters. He said Nawaz Sharif wanted G-B to experience the same economic progress and infrastructure development achieved in Punjab.\n\nThe former minister claimed that major projects and relief measures in the region had been delivered under PML-N governments. He promised that the party would address water shortages in Hunza through new pipeline projects and other infrastructure schemes.\n\n“Nawaz Sharif has never lied to the people. He has always practised honest politics and fulfilled the commitments he made,” Ali said.\n\nThe post Capt (R) Safdar joins PML-N’s Hunza campaign as party pitches Nawaz Sharif’s vision for G-B appeared first on HUM News English.",
