The founder of PTI, Imran Khan, is set to meet his colleagues today at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. Focal person Chaudhry Owais Younis Advocate has submitted the list of individuals scheduled to meet Imran Khan to the jail authorities.
The family members and party associates of Imran Khan have been prevented from meeting him for a long time. Earlier this week, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Imran Khan’s sister were denied permission to meet him in jail. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister also warned that they would stage a sit-in outside the National Assembly on June 10.
In August 2023, Khan was arrested for a second time and was sentenced to three years in prison for failing to declare money earned from the sale of gifts he received while in office. In January 2024, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of leaking state secrets and 14 years on separate corruption charges. In January 2025, he was sentenced to another 14 years in prison in a further corruption case.
The list submitted by Chaudhry Owais Younis includes Seemabia Tahir, Usman Jora, Assad Abbas, Malik Yasir Patwali, Roohul Amin, Malik Azeem, and Rohail Anjum, who are scheduled to meet Imran Khan today.
The above-mentioned associates have been granted permission to enter Central Jail Adiala to meet Imran Khan on Thursday at 2:00 PM.
