Maryam Nawaz undergoes major surgery, continues to oversee Punjab affairs during Eid

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif underwent a major surgical procedure at Sharif Medical City Hospital and has since been discharged and shifted home, Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Thursday.

According to sources, the chief minister’s surgery was carried out successfully and her condition is stable, and she was moved to her residence following post-operative care.

Despite the procedure, officials said Maryam Nawaz continued to keep a close watch on provincial affairs during Eidul Azha, receiving briefings on security arrangements, sanitation operations and other administrative matters across Punjab.

They added that the chief minister remained in contact with relevant departments throughout the day and monitored key developments related to public safety and municipal services during the holiday period.
