Field Marshal Asim Munir visited Zhob district of Balochistan on the occasion of Eidul Azha, where he spent the day with troops deployed along the country’s western borders, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military’s media wing said the visit began with Eid prayers offered alongside serving officers and soldiers at forward positions. Special prayers were also offered for the country’s peace, stability and prosperity, as well as for the elevation of ranks of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. During his visit, the army chief extended Eid greetings to officers and personnel stationed in operational areas. He praised their high morale, unwavering commitment and operational readiness in the face of ongoing security challenges. According to ISPR, Field Marshal Munir commended the troops for maintaining vigilant security against terrorism allegedly backed by external support. He lauded their continued courage and sacrifices in safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity. He also highlighted recent incidents of terrorism, including what the military described as a cowardly attack in Quetta carried out by “Fitna al-Hindustan” and its facilitators. He said such acts would not weaken the resolve of the armed forces or the nation. The army chief reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces and people remain firmly committed to defeating terrorism in all its forms. He stressed that operations against militants and their facilitators would continue with full force until lasting peace is achieved. Upon arrival in Quetta earlier during the visit, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Corps Commander, ISPR said. He also laid a floral wreath at a martyrs’ memorial, paying tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country.
