Israeli strikes kill seven Palestinians in Gaza

CAIRO: Israeli strikes killed at least seven Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, including five people in an incident at a refugee camp and two others in a separate strike on a vehicle in the south, medics said. Medics and residents said a drone-fired missile hit a group of people who had come out of their homes in the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza after an Israeli-backed Palestinian militia attempted to storm the area. They said at least five people were killed and several others wounded in the incident. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In a separate incident later on Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike hit a vehicle in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing two people and wounding others, according to medics. The situation on the ground remains volatile, with sporadic strikes reported across different parts of the enclave and armed groups continuing to operate in contested areas. Separately, Israel and Hamas remain locked in indirect negotiations over issues including disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawals, with little progress reported so far.
